I'm going through a bit of a slump right now, exhausting myself with unnecessary shit. Hopefully this will pass.
In addition to Campus Events, I recently got accepted into the UCLA Advertising and Marketing Team, which is a nationwide competitive advertisement campaign-making group. Our first meeting is on Wednesday, which is also when I will find out what sort of role I'll be playing in the team (hopefully Creative, because I feel like I'll be useless anywhere else). I've got friends in it and I'm excited for it.
Man, I am piling on the extracurrics. Yeah... all two (three including UniCamp, which hasn't started yet) of them. I've never been more involved in school. I wonder why I was never like this at Hunter. If I were this busy then, I would prolly have been happier. Haha, not to say I was unhappy in high school; I guess I just didn't take advantage of the opportunities I had then, and didn't realize this until now.

I'm not a huge fan of taking and posting photos of myself (although I do do it; it just reminds me too much of the stigmatized MySpace), but here is a photo of me that I took, because I think it is creepy-looking enough to scare- I mean, share:
Oh the wonders of MacBook Pro!
Happy Halloween?

Sunset at a beach in Oxnard.

I'm part of this thing called Campus Events Commission now. It's exactly what it sounds like - we put on events (speakers, films, concerts) on campus. Actually I'm part of the advertising staff, so what I really do is make pretty flyers and posters and stuff. It's kind of fun.
But yeah this past weekend was the retreat, and it was by the beach. I didn't see the sun set because I was watching UCLA cream University of Arizona, but I did manage to run out during a commercial to take that photo.

Umm... I think I had something to say. But what I really want to say, I've already said to almost everyone that counts. Sorry, guess you guys aren't that special.
I'm still trying to settle into the apartment life; I guess it's something that would take a while. Meanwhile, I've been keeping myself relatively busy. Dance classes have started so I'll be going to those, and CEC puts on movies like every other freaking day so I'll be trying to go to those as well. Also I have an interview at a gallery in Venice for an (unpaid) internship position on Wednesday, which I'm kind of excited about.
I believe I'm catching a cold. I'm going to try to go home this weekend... good night.

Such a long day, so physically and mentally drained. Listening to this song makes me feel better, though. Good night.

A few new things at LS.net. Not just doodles; some finished stuff, too.

Been in Japan for the past couple weeks. I'm jetlagged as hell, so I've been feeling funky and off lately. Also I hadn't really spoken English for a long time until yesterday, when I went up to UCLA to check out the apartment and hang out with some of the guys, so everything that came out of my mouth sounded (to me) unnatural and forced.
Tomorrow I will be moving into aforementioned apartment with some of my close friends from the dorms. I would be excited, but I'm also kind of scared, to move in. I'm not really prepared for anything, i.e., I don't have a bed to sleep on or a desk to work at, although that will be taken care of soon enough, I hope. Not having either of those two things, though, makes the apartment lifestyle a foreign concept that I have yet to grasp, so it feels weird that I'll be living it starting tomorrow.
Neh I dunno, a lot of things on the horizon, approaching really fast. Classes sound so unreal compared to Campus Events, UniCamp socials, and internship applications. Haha.

Oh, and if you ever want to see an example of an EXCELLENT blog entry (the perfect personal narrative that also looks to connect with the reader), look no further than this entry by Hipstomp.

It sucks not to write for a while because the more you put it off, the harder it becomes to write anything about everything.
That being said,
- New York City is amazing, as always. - UniCamp was ... also amazing, in so many different ways. Definitely want to do it next year. I could probably write a book about the one week I spent at Camp River Glen and then a sequel about post-session, and then maybe another underdeveloped tying-up-random-loose-ends story and make it a trilogy. Perhaps I will write an entry about it, eventually. - I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow, for a couple weeks. As is always the case when I travel anywhere, I don't really know when I'm coming back. So um. Yeah HANDLE IT
All in all, life is good.
Oh, and I got another domain name, because lovepanda.org is being held hostage for another year or so. The new URL is: www.lovespeakeasy.net. It looks prettier and has some new stuff, if you are interested.
I'm going to try to find some way to communicate with the not-Japanese world while I'm gone. I've never made a real effort to look for internet cafés or anything, but in my years of halfassed searching Nara has proven quite use/fruit/internet-less. We'll see. Till then, enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and if your classes have already started, sucks to be you!
Hold all my calls please, thanks.
